Wacom Bridge & Amazon DCV Setup Guide

Amazon DCV Setup

  • Requires an Amazon DCV account and ability to connect to the Amazon DCV server through the Amazon DCV client
    • Review AWS documentation for Amazon DCV setup here.
  • Amazon DCV Server
    • For EC2 servers, Windows Server 2022 (or later) is required
    • For bare metal and virtual machines – Windows 10 (or later, excluding Windows 10 LTSC) or Windows Server 2022 (or later)
    • Amazon DCV Server software must be version 2024 (or later) (Amazon DCV Download).
    • If using a GPU-enabled EC2 instance, update to the latest GRID drivers for your system for optimal performance – here.
  • Amazon DCV Client Windows
    • Windows 10 (or later, excluding Windows 10 LTSC)
    • Amazon DCV Client software must be version 2024 (or later) (Amazon DCV Download).
  • Amazon DCV Client Mac Os
    • MacOS 13 or later
    • Amazon DCV Client software must be version 2024.0.8004 or later (or later) (Amazon DCV Download).
  • Once your Amazon DCV system is setup and working, proceed to add Wacom Bridge.

Amazon Appstream 2.0 Setup

  • Requires an AWS account and access to the Amazon AppStream 2.0 Image Builder
    • Review AWS documentation for Amazon AppStream 2.0 setup here.
  • Amazon AppStream 2.0 Image
    • Windows Server 2022 (or later) is required
    • If using a GPU-enabled AppStream 2.0 instance, update to the latest GRID drivers for your system for optimal performance – here.
    • Wacom Driver and Wacom Bridge License must be installed on the image prior to deployment (see next section).
  • Amazon AppStream 2.0 Client
    • Windows 10 (or later)
    • Amazon AppStream 2.0 Client software must be version 1.1.1414 (or later) (Download here).

Wacom Bridge Setup

Prerequisite:

  • Windows OS Client: Download Wacom Tablet driver (v6.4.8-6 or later) from wacom.com/drivers
  • Mac OS Client: Download Wacom Tablet driver (v6.4.11-1 or later) from wacom.com/drivers
  • License Installer:
    • You can license via Wacom Bridge license key installer or use driver installer via command line from v4.6.11-1.
    • Wacom Bridge license key installer: WacomBridgeLK.exe if you already have a driver installed.
  • License:
  • Connectivity:
    • The server requires internet connectivity to the Wacom license server to validate the Wacom Bridge license availability.
    • If your server is running a firewall, for the Wacom License Manager to reach the License server, access needs to be permitted from the host machine through HTTPS port :443.

Install Wacom Tablet Driver on Server

  1. While connected to the server, install Wacom Tablet driver (Installer Command Line Arguments command line option).
  2. Restart server.
  3. Install License:
    • Manual installation via Wacom Bridge license installer
      • Run https://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/win/professional/WacomBridgeLK.exe.
      • When prompted, copy and paste your License Key into the License Key field.
      • The server requires internet connectivity to the Wacom license server to validate the Wacom Bridge license availability.
    • Automatic installation via Driver Installation
      • License can be enabled during driver installation using the param: installer.exe /wb "license key"

Install Wacom Tablet Driver on Client

  1. Install the Wacom Tablet driver.
  2. Restart client.

Connect a Supported Wacom Tablet or Pen Display to the Client

Using Wacom Bridge

  • On the client, open the DCV Client or AppStream 2.0 Client application, connect to the server using a valid IP or FQDN, and input your credentials (username and password).
  • Once connected, Wacom Bridge will automatically connect.
    • Pen input will work seamlessly for all applications, both on the client and the server.
    • Switching between pen input in client and server applications is as easy as switching focus between the local client system and the remote server system. One tap and you are set.
  • To confirm the connection or adjust Wacom Bridge settings, open Wacom Center on the local system and select the Wacom Bridge tab from the top row.
